Better than expected!
This shawl/blanket was such a great find. Itâs not easy to find 100% wool blankets at a reasonable price, and this one, being yak wool, makes it an even rarer find and value. Hereâs why I prefer yak wool when I can find it:*Itâs known for being very warm. It’s really warm!
It arrived I believe a few days later than it said it was going to but no problem. There was kind of a weird smell to it when opened so like others suggested, I washed it with mild detergent and draped it over a drying rack. Actually didn’t take long at all to dry. It’s a large scarf, I plan to wear it as a blanket scarf perhaps with a belt. It’s very soft and pretty lightweight. I messed around with it and draped it here and there and I think if you’re not moving around a lot (i.e., sitting in a cool restaurant say) it will not move off the shoulder. It is not a “slippery” or “slinky” material. I really like it and plan to wear it very soon.

Bought this to wear over a somewhat warm dress for an outdoor BBQ/bonfire wedding reception where I knew the temperature would be dropping to the 50s after the sun went down. Folded it in half to wrap around my shoulders, and belted it around my waist to secure it. This kept me plenty warm enough that I never had to go grab my bulky coat from the car. Went ahead and washed it once before wearing even though it looked and smelled fine on arrival. Held up great to washing and got even softer. Planning to buy more to give as Christmas gifts!

When it first arrived there was an odor. But once out of the packaging it went away in a day or two. The Yak hair is very soft and warm. The design is beautiful.

A gorgeous piece woven from yak wool. The piece is thick and luxurious, densely woven with the very faintest warm wool smell, far less than a sweater of sheep wool might smell. I love this and I would recommend it.
